I am done taking a break here at home doing random stuff. I got tired of reading tons of books, watching Television too much and I am now ready to go out and explore the city to find a suited job for a fresh IT graduate.
I am really thankful that the internet is giving so many resources that can help to find better job because there are so many websites that have a compilation of available jobs in the marketplace nowadays. What I don’t like are the companies who are posting deceiving job ads in such websites. What I noticed while browsing the list of job advertisements was that it was full of shitty ads from call center companies. I don’t hate call center companies or people who belong to this industry as a matter of fact, I want to try working on it because I find it cool being an agent. I just hate some call center companies who post their ads on the internet that deceive lots of people who are searching for jobs online.
Last June 14, 2012, I went to Makati City for a job interview. Someone texted me to go to their building somewhere in Salcedo St. for an interview and I was ecstatic hearing this good news hoping to get my very first job. I applied as an “Online Gaming Consultant” from an ad on jobsdb posted by “Global Milestone Asia” because this has something to do with IT stuff and I am confident that I can do it.
When I came in to the building, the receptionists brought me to this small room that has applicants just like me. They are having this lecture about do’s and don’ts in job interview and I really appreciate it. The trainers are really cool and they know what they are talking about. In fact, I learned a lot of things that can be useful in finding a job.
What I don’t like is that the lecture/ training/ seminar is too freakin’ long. I arrived there at 9:30 in the morning and they are already having the seminar when a bunch of applicants arrived in the room, the trainer decided to repeat again the seminar from the top. The same thing happened again and again and it is really time consuming.
I must admit that the training/ seminar/ lecture is quite useful and interesting but they don’t have to say it over and over and over again. We are not stupid not to remember what they have shared to us. I also noticed that most of the applicants were applying as a trainer; computer troubleshooter etc as they saw it on a job advertisement online but the only available job for that day was CSR and TSR only. In short, Customer and Technical support in a call center agency. What a bummer!
The seminar/ lecture/ training lasts until 3 in the afternoon and we were not having our lunch yet because the trainers said that we should stay in the room because the interviewers from different call center agencies will be coming anytime soon. Luckily, I bought 2 chocolate bars in 7-eleven before going to that building.

The trainers from Global Milestone insisted that their company is not an agency. Therefore, they will not get any commission if ever we got hired and I am still neutral about it.
Again, the training/ seminar/ lecture that they had with us were really helpful and I learned lots of things. I just hated how they consumed my time for that day. I had so many plans for that day but they were all cancelled because I sat in a small room for like 5 to 6 hours listening to a lecture over and over again and it was completely draining.
My advice to Global Milestone Asia or GMA is that if you want to have a long seminar or talk, please make sure that you can provide some snacks for the applicants. Coffee and biscuit would be good. But I am still thankful for the things that you have taught me. I learned a lot.
