It's been my great interest to do something geeky with my data connection. I am interested in bypassing the data limit of Globe and Smart's internet promo. I am sure everyone know all about Fair Usage Policy / FUP that gives limit to our data plan.

What's bad about it is that they are advertising an unlimited internet service for a certain amount however, we are not actually getting what we deserved. Philippine internet service providers are huge mess.

That is correct. I have accidentally bypassed my 3GB monthly data limit on my SUPERSURF999 subscription. First of all, I decided to make a series of blog post with regards to my experiences with Globe's internet subscription since I always have something to say about its interesting and deceiving policy that should never exist.

Quick recap, SUPERSURF999 allows its users to browse the internet for one whole month but wait, there is more. It is unlimited BUT there is a limit. It is 800MB everyday and 3GB for a month whichever comes first. If you have reached your limit, your signal will be lowered down to 2G so loading pages from different websites or even gooogle will be ultra mega super slow. That is what they call, Fair Usage Policy. FU, Globe Telco!

While looking for an alternative for my prepaid internet subscription by next month, I saw this promo from Smart called, Unli Surf 999. According to the plan description, you get 30 days of unlimited mobile surfing with the new Smart Unli Surf 999 for only Php 999 pesos! 

Since PLDT has some billing issues, I have decided to cancel my myDSL account early in October and thought of not trying any postpaid plans when it comes to my internet connection because I have tried all of them already; SmartBro Wimax, Globe, Sun Broadband, PLDT and even the worse of them, WiTribe.

As you can see, I have been trying to survive my blogging hobby by means of using my mobile hotspot. Thanks to Globe's prepaid internet promos like SUPERSURF. 

SUPERSURF200 is one of the amazing internet promo of Globe wherein you will be registered to a 5-days unlimited internet access. You can do it by texting SUPERSURF200 then send to 8888. Today is my 4th day already and I am doing everything that I could to maximize my unlimited internet.

In my previous post, I asked if there is a data capping or Fair Usage Policy included in this specific promo and the answer is; Yes there is a data limit for 800 MB daily!

Technically, what happened was I have reached my 800 MB limit during the afternoon so Globe texted me and said:

I am very sorry for not updating this blog and my fashion blog for men because my internet service provider, PLDT is acting up! It has been three days now when I noticed that I am connected to my WIFI but cannot access the internet and when I try to call PLDT customer service, they keep on saying that they are working on it and they are going to fix it as soon as they can. Next time I will call, I will be an irate customer and will definitely get the full name and agent ID of the person who will be assisting me. Too bad for whoever you are. 

So now, I am temporarily using my Globe LTE sim card that is registered to SUPERSURF200 with 5 days of unlimited internet service. I am still monitoring it and as much as possible, I am not limiting my data usage so I can check if Fair Usage Policy or FUP will apply to this one.

This is the second part of my entry about my disgust about SmartBro Wimax/ Smart Communications or whatever you call them because of the service I am getting from them as a customer. 

The main reason why I am really upset about them is because of their Fair Usage Policy or what they also call as FUP. It is where you reach your limit of internet usage (60 GB per month) and they lower down the speed of your internet despite the fact that they are advertising UNLIMITED INTERNET SURFING!

Isn't it aggravating when you are paying your monthly bill without a miss or delay and the fact that it is included in my monthly budget that is supposed to be for something more important like brand new clothes or shoes or savings for my car. And the money that I am paying is from my hard work, I just don't poop the money out just to pay my bills -- I hope you understand my point Smart Communications because I am really upset right now.
